The Horse List Challenge
Author: Anna Lores
Genre: Erotica, Romantic Suspense
With a violent ex-husband hot on her trail, Ava Black seeks comfort in the arms of Jameson “Brady” Ross, The unrequited love who protects her.
Having healed from the physical abuse at the hands of her ex, she devises a naughty wish list – she calls her Horse List – to help empower her.
Will Brady finally fulfill her sweetest fantasies and become her partner? Or will the man who dominates her dreams and desires, the wealthy Eric North, come for her?
Does she have the strength to fight for her life and love, or will she succumb to demands of her powerful ex-husband?
After being left with such a cliffhanger in The Horse List by Anna Lores, the first book in this series, I couldn’t wait for The Horse List Challenge to be released. This second book in the series picks over a year later, with Ava now living in hiding with Brady- who rescued her from her abusive and dominant ex-husband. She is faced with the constant fear that the ex will find her. While in hiding, Brady is helping Ava to overcome the fears her husband instilled in her, as well as helping her to regain her confidence. There have been many changes in Ava’s life, which I don’t want to give away…but I will say that much like the first book, The Horse List Challenge is full of twists, suspense and plenty of steamy romance.
This book makes me love Ava’s character even more and I feel so deeply for the pain and fear she has been faced with. What she has experienced at the hands of Steve, her ex-husband, is so unimaginable, and I think that Anna Lores continues to depict those emotions extremely well in this sequel. Ava has this amazing relationship with her lifelong friend Brady, and I really enjoy seeing how their relationship grows and how he helps her begin to heal. Along with overcoming her fears and regaining her independence, Ava has to make a choice because she is in love with two amazing men- her childhood friend Brady and the sexy dominant Eric North, and this is a conflict she struggles with throughout the book.
Again, we are left with a cliffhanger that leaves us wanting more! Fortunately we won’t have to wait too long for the third book in the series. The Horse List Challenge is a book you won’t want to miss out on. The characters are deep, believable and extremely sexy, and you will grow to really care for them just as I did!
I do recommend reading the first book because a lot of what is going on in this book relies on the reader having the background story that unraveled in The Horse List.
I give The Horse List Challenge 4.5 Silver Buckles!
Anna started writing romance as a by-product of insomnia. After a year of late night reading, she borrowed her son’s laptop after he went to bed each night, and set about breathing life to her very own characters. After a month of writing in the middle of the night, she was surprised with a new laptop of her own to pursue her dreams. With a B.A. in English Literature and a desire to fill her world with wonderful stories she and her close friends could not just talk about, but gush over, she shed her job as mom of three in the late night hours and assumed her alter ego of dirty girl.

Rolling her eyes, she stretched her back to the side, attempting another glance around Colin’s back. No one could get in without a dozen or more security men hidden, and not-so hidden, around the property texting or calling Colin, and he hadn’t texted or checked his phone in front of her for at least a half hour.
Brady walked into view with a towel wrapped low around his hips, showing off the ridges and valleys of his defined abdominals. Her eyes drifted up the abs she dreamed of caressing over his ribcage to the chest she slept against every night. She licked her lips imagining the taste of the drop of water sliding down the side of his neck, across the line of his collarbone pooling in the notch in the center. Gosh, every inch of him sent jolts of electricity from her heart to her center.
Colin released his hold, but stayed coiled for a fight. “Brady, I’m leaving before I start yelling at Ava again.” He pivoted toward the door they just walked through, freeing her to ogle her cowboy from the physical obstacle known as her “angry Irishman.” “Call me and we’ll discuss her training when I’m not so—”
“—irritated because you’re not a real equestrian,” she mumbled before her brain shut down her mouth. She’d pay for that comment in endless pushups at her next exercise session with him.
Colin grabbed his keys from under the pewter lamp on the side table and strode out the door, slamming it behind him.
“What did you do to him?” Brady crossed his arms over his chest, accentuating the muscles bulging everywhere.
He couldn’t get hotter unless he put his brown Stetson on…and was on a horse. Or if his towel fell to the floor and he ordered her to get down on her knees and suck his delicious male seed…
